Berries were plentiful yesterday at the Irvington Farmers Market . The strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries all looked very tasty. I got a ton of blueberries for a reasonable price, so I will be adding a lot of blueberry smoothies to the recipes for green smoothies file soon.
Gaia’s Breath Farm also had a few hunks of my favorite type of kale, Russian red kale. I recently discovered this type of Kale at the Irvington farmers market and have incorporated a lot of it into my vitamix weight loss recipes. It’s not as bitter as lacinto kale, and has a nice smooth flavor.
Recipes For Green Smoothies – The Blast of Berries! recipe:
- 8 Strawberries
- 1 quart of raspberries
- 2 cups of blueberries
- 1 generous hunk of red russian kale
Fill your vitamix blender half way with water. Add the ingredients in the order specified above. Blend on low, slowly advancing to high. Blend on high for 30 seconds, or until all ingredients have been processed into a drinkable liquid.
Your blender should be filled to the top with your newest vitamix weight loss smoothie recipe! I stored it in two mason jars and will enjoy it for breakfast over the next two days.
